Temperatures across the world vary day by day and season by season. It is inly when we average the figures across the whole world do we get an idea about the usual temperature of planet Earth. A rise in average temperature of 1.5oC since 1700 does not sound very much, but it is large enough to upset the delicate balance of the climate.
