This is a new type of story, called “A spot…”. The video reel shows something that can be easily spotted when out walking.
The reel introduces the story, which then tells us more.
In the London Plane, what looks like a single fruit (like a horse chestnut conker),

is, in fact, a cluster of fruits, each containing a seed.
It has adaptations – dry, lightweight, bristle-like fibres, that help the fruits to be dispersed by the wind.
(This contrasts with fruit (like blackberries) that are eaten by birds and small mammals. )
The fruits are called achenes, and each contains a single seed. It is the seed that germinates through a split in the achene wall to form the new plant.
